…….every business was built on these principles what sort of world would it be?

Let me give you a bit of background.

Some of you may recall that back in August and September of last year, I asked for your help to get a manifesto published on the ChangeThis website via the Change This: I need your help and The RARE Manifesto – The finishing straight posts.

I am pleased to say that we were successful in getting the manifesto approved for development and I am even more pleased to say that the manifesto is now published. You can download a copy via the new greenish icon in the sidebar or view it below.

Further, I wanted to thank you all for your help in achieving this. I’m really proud of it and the principles that it is advocating.

You can check it out on Slideshare here:RARE Manifesto

What if?

My belief if that building a RARE Business starts with the relationships that you have with your people and your customers and the book, RARE Business, covers a number of strategies that can help you start building a customer and people centric business that delivers sustainable growth. This quote from The RARE Manifesto describes the challenge and the possibility that lies ahead of us….

“What if we lived in a world where all companies took care of their existing customers with as much effort as they pursued new customers, where companies were trusted and liked, where doing business with a company was a good experience, where companies and their employees cared about their customers and each other?

What kind of world would that be?

I believe that it is a world that is worth striving for.”

…and the manifesto is my attempt to define what would be the basic cultural building blocks needed to deliver the team and customer service ethic that would underpin the workings and growth of such a business. Take a look and let me know what you think. Am I mad? Is this achievable? How would you feel if you owned, managed, lead, worked for or were a customer of such a business? Is it worth striving for? What would its customer service be like? Finally, have a think about whether you think there are any principles or values that are not included that should be there. Is there a number 7? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Thanks to[F]oxymoron for the image.Originally posted at www.adrianswinscoe.com
