Entrepreneurs are a tough bunch and this weekend they've proven that not even an erupting volcano can beat them!
Stranded in London as a result of the drifting ash clouds caused by the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland, a group of social entrepreneurs, who came to the UK earlier this week for the high profile Skoll World Forum in Oxford, have organised a conference in central London on Sunday evening.
Led by Nathaniel Whitemore, a San Francisco-based social entrepreneur, TEDxVolcano takes place at the fabulous Hub King's Cross at 5.15pm on Sunday.
His efforts show how the power of social media as the gathering was organised in just 36 hours. Within minutes of the idea being suggested it spread quickly on Twitter and the entrepreneurs made it happen. The very best business owners are those who are always looking for opportunities even in the most difficult of circumstances and Whitemore has certainly done that.
I can't attend the event unfortunately but will be keeping an eye on the buzz on Twitter to see how it pans out.
So the next time you face your equivalent of an erupting volcano, learn from the TEDxVolcano experience and reach out to your contacts and the wider community. You never know what might happen!
