Whatever you think about StartUp Britain, you have to admit that it's great to see so many people debating entrepreneurship. I've been writing about small businesses since 2002 and I can't remember anything that has provoked such discussion. Twitter has of course helped amplify the conversation but I do think it reflects an increased interest in the power of running your own business.
That interest is shown by a couple of things I've spotted on Twitter recently.
The first is the trailer released today by TechCrunch Europe for 'The Startup Kids', a new documentary filmed by two Icelandic girls who travelled around Europe and the US interviewing technology entrepreneurs. The trailer makes for interesting viewing and I'll certainly be tracking down the documentary when it premieres in London. My favourite quote is: "Entrepreneurs have a dream most people don't have and dare to chase it."
The second thing I've spotted is the British Library's #ImAnEntrepreneurBecause Twitter campaign which is encouraging tweeters to share what drives their entrepreneurial ambitions. I've posted some of my favourite responses below:
