BusinessZone is changing. We’re currently switching over to the shiny new BusinessZone. During this time, we’ve had to temporarily disable registrations, login, the publishing of new content and the downloading of resources. So, whilst you’ll still be able to read all the content on the site, you won’t be able to create or edit your own posts or comments. Normal service will resume shortly.

Walk down Britain's best shopping streets

Back to blog homepage for: Dan Martin: Editor's Blog

Google has revealed a list of the best shopping streets in Britain. Based on a public vote, the internet giant has named the five most consumer friendly retail destinations. In a coup for small businesses, obvious locations like London's Oxford Street aren't on the list but streets that are home to many independent retailers are. The five best are listed below along with Googlemaps Street View allowing you to take a virtual walk down each road.

1. Bondgate Within, Alnwick

2. Market Place, Kingston

3. Low Pavement, Nottingham

4. Lisburn Road, Belfast

5. The Promenade, Cheltenham
