Entrepreneur Will King is proving himself to among the royalty when it comes to using social media for business. Anyone who follows him on Twitter will be aware of how he uses the site to create buzz around his brand through tweets from the boss and the use of hashtags such as #JoinOurKingdom.
King has also embraced video with his 2010 'Shave Sexy' viral causing a stir on Twitter and attracting well over 100,000 views.
Well, Will has done it again.
Last week, he tweeted he would be making a special announcement through Twitter tonight at 6pm. I was intrigued and was among many who 'tuned' in. He didn't disappoint as the entrepreneur unveiled a parody of movie hit The King's Speech which is tipped to win big at the Oscars in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Shot on a budget in just five hours, the entrepreneur speaks into the original microphone used in the hit movie starring Colin Firth and takes a humourous swipe at rival brand Gilette.
Business owners have lots to learn from Will King's social media activity. He uses it to show that he is the brand; he is King of Shaves. He is also taking on the giants of the shaving world such as Gilette and his 'David versus Goliath' story has attracted plenty of attention. He also instills humour into his tweets and videos which when done right, is a great tactic. It takes some work but Will King is demonstrating that small businesses can use the latest social platforms to compete with the big boys.
