It's When You Just Let Go

Back to blog homepage for: Funding Enterprise: freeing-up money to help grow great British businesses

It feels like Christmas Eve in Manchester.

It's snowing and work seems to have ceased for the year.

Within Innospace, the incubator I work out of, the hard core are still here, however. It's Saturday - that's a day of work, not of rest, and still six full days away from the overly long break.

I've just been talking with Martin. It's like being plugged into the mains. Electric.....utterly jump-starting on a tired morning.

Martin does the most inspirational coaching I have ever experienced. And this wasn't a formal session, just a chat.

I asked him what he was up to - "Just tidying up a few bits and pieces, nothing much."

He went on explain that yesterday he had pinned down four crucial tranches of work delivery for 2010 and this weekend is putting together his new work book and, oh yes, would I mind having a look over the first chaper of his new book?

We got to talking about both of our business building activities - along with a few others we have all been pushing for a very strong end to the year, driving each other on to fill the pipeline and crash over into the New Year brimful of ideas and business.

"I took a decision recently to just let go, not to want it so much, " explained Martin, "I think so much planning is just bullshit - all you need to do is to take action all the time. It doesn't matter if it all has timelines and immediate outputs attached. Just keep taking action and amazing things will happen."

So, there you have it, straight from the guru's mouth - let go, take action, let your results explode into their own emerging shape.
