Dan Martin was recently named as one the top 10 most influential political bloggers on Twitter by The Independent and is frequently asked to deliver training on social networks to senior PR executives and entrepreneurs. He has been editor of BusinessZone.co.uk for three years and has eight years experience of creating content online.
Dan has also written content for a host of leading business organisations includling the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Forum of Private Business and British Chambers of Commerce and regularly appears in the national press as an expert on business and social networking. He also recently presented to 250 delegates at the National Federation of Enterprise Agencies' annual conference, 300 delegates at the Learning Technologies conference in London and chaired a roundtable discussion featuring Dragons’ Den panellist James Caan.
Dan is also lead organiser of the Bristol Twestival, part of a global Twitter driven charity initiative. In February 2009 and March 2010, volunteers from more than 175 cities around the world organised events using the social network. In total, $350,000 was raised for charity: water in 2009 and $500,000 for Concern in 2010. In Bristol, £1,500 was raised in 2009 and £5,600 in 2010.
