Google Analytics: Getting started

If you run a shop then you will know roughly the number of visitors passing through each day, the busiest days, how long people spend in your shop, and most popular products. You probably use this information to sell more products.

In the same way you should gather intelligence from your website to understand what, how, where and why your website is successful, or unsuccessful, so you can change it accordingly. If your website serves visitors better they will stay on your site longer or, better still, begin a relationship with your company.

Google Analytics is a free statistics package that lets you look at your website's traffic; in more detail you can find out:

Registering with Google Analytics
You can look at your web statistics today by following these simple instructions:

1.) Register for a Google account at https://www.google.com/accounts using the 'Create an account now' link on the right hand side of the page

2.) Write down your username and password information

3.) Go to http://www.google.com/analytics, log into your Google account and register following the on-screen instructions.
