Blogging - stay away from the dark side

In a recent post I mentioned blogging as great way of letting those people that want to know about your business find information, keep up on the latest happenings and even gain an insight into your company's personality.

What my previous 400 words prohibited me from mentioning is the growing, insidious hidden influence that is repeatedly leaving large and small companies with egg on their faces. I speak of the anonymous corporate blogger.

Now it isn't a crime blogging behind a pseudonym or simply failing to give a name but once you start mentioning or advocating a company that happens to be your own or one that is paying you for the service, this is where things start to get messy. Becoming a supposedly independent advocate of one's own company might seem like a great way to let people know about and promote a business – bypassing the often unforgiving media sounds like a dream! And it is if no one knows and you happen to be lacking in ethics.
