Entrepreneur replaces flooring with feng shui

Dawn Gibbins, founder, FlowcreteOne of the UK's most successful female entrepreneurs has sold her 26-year-old business in order to set up a social enterprise focusing on feng shui techniques.

Flooring specialist Flowcrete, the company started by Dawn Gibbins in 1982, has been acquired by US-based manufacturer RPM International, it was confirmed today. The amount paid was not disclosed.

The entrepreneur will now "fulfil a life-long ambition" to establish a socially driven operation which promotes healthy business and residential environments.

Gibbins was helped by her husband and business partner Mark Greaves, who is to continue as managing director, in building Flowcrete in to a multi-million pound international brand after starting the business with her late father, Peter.

The company, which said all jobs are safe as a result of the RPM deal, has 30 offices and 12 manufacturing plants around the world.
