With the labour market showing no signs of immediate change, more businesses are recognising that effective talent management is the key to making a difference. The current shortage of candidates with the right skills and experience has created a fierce arena in the battle for talent. Since business success hinges so heavily upon having the right people in place, it is essential businesses have an effective talent management strategy integrated into their business plan.

Employers are now required to adopt a more sophisticated strategy that links talent sourcing and retention directly with the needs of the business. However due to the current climate in the labour market, candidates are expecting more from potential employers. Organisations must expand on the traditional methods used to recruit, and instead adopt a more innovative approach in how they handle staff.

Once staff have been successfully recruited, it's also vital to retain them.
