PBR 2008: VAT cut - entrepreneurs react

Small business owners have reacted with dismay to the government's cut in VAT claiming that rather than increasing consumer spending it will actually cause an administrative nightmare.

Even though it was widely reported 24 hours before Alistair Darling delivered his so-called 'emergency mini-budget', the 2.5% VAT reduction still claimed the main headline in pretty much every publication covering the story.
