When Pat Wood started Truffle Shuffle with his girlfriend from their flat in 2004, selling retro t-shirts over the internet, he had little notion that in a matter of years it would be turning over in excess of £4m and supplying funky apparel to celebrities and trendy folk all over the country; a brand synonymous with cool.

Even if he had thought all this remotely possible, he could hardly have dared to dream that in 2009 he might be asked to judge the UK’s most prestigious small business competition, The Pitch.
