Start-up Stories: Kate Cazenove, Sip
Kate Cazenove's Sip, a flavoured bottled water fortified with vitamins and anti-oxidants, is going from strength to strength. With sales increasing from £40,000 in 2007 to £400,000 in 2008, the company recently attracted investment from Dragons' Den panellist Peter Jones. Dan Martin spoke to Cazenove about the story behind her success.
Kate Cazenove’s background as the co-founder of business publisher Caspian gave her good grounding in what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. “I really enjoyed my time in publishing but after eight years I got itchy feet,” she explains. “I’d always loved the business start-up phase and the excitement of moving from a concept to something tangible.”
