BBC refuses to fire Sir Alan

The BBC has given its official backing for Sir Alan Sugar to continue presenting hit show The Apprentice despite complaints that his role conflicts with his new position as Gordon Brown's enterprise tsar.
Responding to criticism by the Conservatives, the BBC said it was "satisfied" that the entrepreneur's new job with the government does not impact on its "impartiality" or Sir Alan's "ability to present The Apprentice".
