In a survey taken by more than 38,000 people, almost half of the small business owners taking part claim they will vote Conservative in the general election.
The poll, by accounting software company Clear Books, is one of the largest to survey public opinion ahead of next Thursday's election. At the time of writing, 38,397 people had participated, 6,956 of whom were business owners or self-employed.
