An appearance on BBC TV's Dragons’ Den can make or break a business. Entrepreneur James Nash, founder of Wine Innovations, talks about surviving a rejection from all five panellists on the popular television show.

When I entered the Dragons' Den in August 2009, I was confident of having a good, investible idea. I had spent three years and a substantial amount of money designing and manufacturing a machine that fills plastic goblets with wine and then seals them with a foil top lid to give the wine up to a 12-month shelf life.
 
The research and development for the machine was the result of a professional background at countless festivals and outdoor events. I couldn’t help but notice how poor some of the wine offerings were for consumers. Also, due to health and safety aspects around glass, it was really difficult to get hold of a decent glass of wine. In addition, I had taken on a marketing director, who had come from a large wine producer to work with me, who knows the wine business inside out.
