James Caan quits Dragons' Den

James Caan, Dragons' Den

Entrepreneur James Caan has revealed that he will no longer appear on popular BBC TV show Dragons' Den.

Posting on Twitter, the millionaire investor said: "After 4 fantastic seasons, I have made the decision to step down from the panel of the much loved Dragons' Den.

"I have seen some excellent entrepreneurs and brilliant ideas and I thank them and all of the dragons for making it such great fun."

Caan added that he will continue to focus on existing investments made through the show as well as his private equity company Hamilton Bradshaw. He will also stay involved with charity work through the James Caan Foundation.

The entrepreneur has been the subject of controversy over recent months following a spat over his non-dom tax status with fellow Dragon Duncan Bannatyne. According to the Daily Mail, the two entrepreneurs haven't spoken for nine months.

James Caan also hit the headlines when he was filmed offering to buy a baby for 100,000 rupees (£725) from a poor family in flood-hit Pakistan.
