Lord Sugar slammed for criticising 'moaning' entrepreneurs
- Lord Sugar, star of The Apprentice, called some business owners 'moaners'
- He said most of the complaints about banks from entrepreneurs are unfounded
- FPB chief executive said the comments were 'misguided' and 'worringly dismissive'
The Apprentice star Lord Sugar has been criticised by a lobby group for calling small business owners 'moaners' and saying that most have no grounds for complaint.
According to reports, the government's enterprise champion made the controversial comments at an event in Manchester. Speaking to delegates, the straight talking millionaire said: "I can honestly say a lot of problems you hear from people who are moaning are from companies I wouldn’t lend a penny to.
"The problem is that some younger people who have lived through the last ten years or so of business — and prior to that ten years they may have just come from education — they think the irresponsible manner in which the banks dealt is the norm. Let me tell you, you lived in the Disneyworld, you have lived in the unrealistic Disneyworld in the way banks dished out money."
