Lord Sugar's right-hand woman to headline small business event
Karren Brady, assistant to Lord Sugar on TV's The Apprentice, will deliver a keynote address at a free event for small business owners in Telford on 8 and 9 September.
The entrepreneur and vice-chairman of West Ham United is one of several speakers at Sage World, a new initiative from software company Sage.
Joining Brady on the speaker line-up at the two-day event at Telford's The International Centre is Will King, founder of men's grooming brand King of Shaves; Casper Berry, a former professional poker player; bomb disposal expert Chris Hunter and Mark Palmer, global brand director of Green & Black's Organic.
Delegates attending the conference will access advice covering all areas of business, from tips on how to best run a start-up to how calculated risk-taking can benefit a business.
"Small businesses in the UK have been hit hard by the challenging economic climate so we wanted to set up an event where they could interact with some of the country's leading business people and get support and answers to the questions they have," said Brendan Flattery, managing director of Sage's Small Business Division.
"But there are also a lot of skills that can be brought into business from other professions and the fantastic line up of speakers we have will encourage everyone to look at their company and their challenges in a different light!"
