National Federation of Enterprise Agencies gets a new look and name

The National Federation of Enterprise Agencies (NFEA) has unveiled a rebrand with the organisation now called the National Enterprise Network (NEN).

The business body, which represents organisations providing support to small business owners, said the change reflects "a period of significant change in the enterprise sector".

Doug Scott, NEN chairman, commented: "As NFEA, we had a strong history and heritage, working alongside our enterprise agency members for nearly 20 years.  However, we know that the landscape has changed significantly in recent years and continues to do so.

"The repositioning to a new name and brand more clearly defines our role and also demonstrates more widely the significant place we hold within the enterprise sector."

Key activities of NEN include representing the sector with key stakeholders in central government, official agencies and the private sector, providing membership products and services and managing national business support contracts.

Commenting on the future of the organisation, chief executive Dawn Whiteley said: "It really is an exciting time for us here at the National Enterprise Network and it’s great to be able to share this positive announcement in a sector that has seen many challenges and changes and none more so than in the current year.

"With our new name and brand, we will be speaking with a louder and stronger voice to represent the interests of enterprise across the country, working alongside our strong membership base. The membership proposition will also widen in the coming months, enabling a diverse cross section of individuals and organisations to join the network if involved in the promotion and support of enterprise."

NEN's logo is a Hummingbird which the body said was selected because it represents "many of the organisation’s characteristics and that of enterprise more widely such as optimism, accomplishment, energy, positivity and movement".
