With her business partner Arthur Potts Dawson, Kate Bull, who previously worked for Marks & Spencer, has created a retail store with a difference. As well as championing small suppliers, the majority of the staff at The People's Supermarket are volunteers who pay a membership fee and work at the shop for at least four hours a month in return for a store discount. Dan Martin spoke to the entrepreneur about why she decided to quit the world of big business retail to run such an innovative social enterprise.
