You must - and can - save the planet, businesses told

Businesses from the smallest enterprise to the largest corporation need to take responsibility for helping to solve the world’s social and environmental problems, a US entrepreneur has claimed.

John Replogle, CEO of natural and ethical personal care company Burt's Bees, said all companies need to stop focusing purely on making money and rewarding stakeholders and start thinking about the so-called 'triple bottom line' of people, planet and profits.

"We need to form a new social contract and business needs to be a vital part of it," he told delegates at One Young World, a London leadership conference for the under 25s. "Every business needs to be accountable for its impact.
