Osborne commits to 'unleashing entrepreneurial resources of business'

Entrepreneurship will be at the heart of the next government should the Conservatives win the general election, George Osborne has pledged.

Addressing business leaders at the Institute of Directors Annual Convention in central London, the Tory shadow chancellor said job creation linked to government spending "cannot be the source of job creation" for the next 10 years; it needs to be one based on savings, investment and exports.

"We need a private sector growth and a new model for economic growth," he told delegates at the Royal Albert Hall. "We need your ideas, your enterprise, your energy and your hard work to make it happen. The job of government is to support you every step of the way."
