Initiative pledges to make 1,000 small businesses financially fitter
Accountancy software company Intuit has launched a government-supported scheme which aims to help 1,000 small businesses improve the way they manage their finances.
The Financial Fitness workshops have been inspired by research from the Office of National Statistics that shows that one in three businesses do not make it past their third birthday.
Intuit, the makers of QuickBooks small business accounting software, will launch the initiative at the Business Startup Show in London on November 17 and 18.
After the show, Intuit will run events in Liverpool, to time with the Global Entrepreneur Congress in March 2012, Sheffield, in advance of the MADE Festival, and Manchester.
The events will support the new Finance Fitness campaign launched by business secretary Vince Cable last week and will cover the basics of good record keeping, how to track and improve cash flow, as well as save time on everyday tasks such as invoicing, expenses and calculating and reporting VAT.
