Lord Sugar to sit on new small business finance taskforce

  • Lord Sugar is joined on the task force by the FSB's John Wright and former banker Mike Faire
  • Main task will be to advise the government on the responsibilities of the new Small Business Credit Adjudicator
  • The Adjudicator could have the power to name and shame banks who unfairly deny credit to small businesses

The Apprentice star Lord Sugar is to be part of a new government advisory body which will look into how to ensure small businesses are treated fairly when accessing bank finance.

The peer, who is also Gordon Brown's enterprise champion, will be joined by outgoing Federation of Small Business chairman John Wright and former Lloyd's TSB deputy chief executive Mike Fairey, the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) announced today.
