Small business minister to start work experience on Monday

Mark Prisk, the government's small business minister, will be experiencing a day in the life of a modern entrepreneur next week as be begins a series of 'work experience' visits to UK small businesses.

The MP will be spending Monday at London-based DIY Kyoto, which produces power-saving wireless electricity meters. It is one of several small companies Prisk will be visiting during the comig weeks in an effort to better understand the concerns of Britain's entrepreneurs.

Speaking to BusinessZone.co.uk, DIY Kyoto co-founder Greta Corke said she was keen to make sure Prisk experienced the nitty gritty of small business life. "We have got a few tasks planned for him including making calls and other small, everyday tasks which small business owners have to do," she said. "We are even considering sending him down the Post Office!"
